local market tour

What better way to explore the rich culture of Oaxaca than to visit one of many local markets with us! Oaxaca has many beautiful markets including the largest in the state, the Central de Abastos. We run a group tour from the school here at least once a month where you can learn more about Oaxacan food, culture  and local customs as well as having the opportunity to pick up some artisanal crafts, local ingredients and even some Mezcal produced right here in Oaxaca!

cooking class

Interested in learning more about Oaxacan cuisine? Ever wondered how to make tamales, mole or even fresh corn tortillas by hand? Well why not take part in one of our cooking classes where you'll get to learn about everything from the local ingredients to the process behind some of Oaxaca's most iconic dishes, all while practicing your Spanish in the process! Finally the best part, enjoying the delicious food you've just prepared. ¡Buen provecho!

social events

During your time in Oaxaca we like to give you the opportunity to meet the other students and teachers in the school. We regularly hold social events whether it be a group dinner where we'll visit a local restaurant to try some delicious oaxacan cuisine or a night out to some local bars and Mezcalerias!

We also sometimes run language exchanges within our campus where you'll have the opportunity to meet some locals while practising your Spanish!
