9:00am - 12:00pm - Shopping for the 'Ofrenda'
We will start off the day with a visit to 'Mercado Central de Abastos' which is the largest market in Oaxaca. Here we will gather everything we need to setup the traditional day of the dead altar / ofrenda (offering to the dead) while learning about the day of the dead traditions and the meaning behind each item. After collecting everything needed for the altar, we will stop for a traditional oaxacan breakfast (not included in the price - each person pays for what they order).
3:00pm - 5:00pm - Catrina make-up party!
After a short break, we will reunite in the school to have our faces painted with the traditional 'Catrina' design that you will see throughout Oaxaca during dia de muertos. You'll also have the chance to chat and hang out while enjoying more local snacks while we prepare to visit the panteón.
