Our Spanish program is designed to help our students of all levels to develop strong communication skills in a friendly and immersive environment. Focusing on both linguistic and Mexican/Oaxacan cultural aspects, providing our students with a strong understanding of the language. Our lessons are led by experienced native-speaking teachers who tailor the instruction to your needs. Our methodology is focused on conversation and building the student's confidence, therefore there are important aspects that enrich the quality of our classes like grammar, vocabulary and daily conversation practice.​​
one to one
Interested in learning Spanish during your visit to Oaxaca? We've got you covered! Our one to one classes will focus on grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation but above all, conversation. Before your first class we will conduct a placement test to evaluate your level of Spanish so that we tailor the classes unique to you. Every class includes study material, but if you want to further strengthen your learning you can buy one of our HLS Workbooks.

During the classes, you'll have the opportunity to walk around the city, visit local markets and cafes, giving you the opportunity to practice your Spanish in real life situations. There are also opportunities to get out of the city to visit local towns, historic sites as well as other popular culture attractions.

group classes
Travelling with a friend or partner and want to study Spanish together? Then maybe our group classes are the best option for you. Our group classes work best with 2-4 people maximum to get the most out of the classes and for each student to progress.

Group classes are available face to face in Oaxaca, starting every week, mornings or afternoons, if you are visiting solo and wish to join a group please contact us for availability. As with all of our classes, the main focus will be on conversation and learning in a group is a great way to practice those core skills!​

Kid's classes
At HLS, we make learning Spanish fun, interactive, and exciting for the children that visit our school! Our specially designed programs immerse kids in the language through games, songs, storytelling, movement, and hands-on activities that spark curiosity and build confidence. Our team is highly trained to teach kids with fun activities that will make your children not want to skip class!
